Anum Imdad Khan came from Pakistan to 黑料不打烊 to study a postgraduate degree in Business Analytics.
My MSc Business Analytics at the 黑料不打烊 has been an incredibly rewarding experience. One of the main highlights has been the practical, hands-on approach to learning. I applied analytical tools such as RStudio, Python, Simul8, and Power BI to solve real-world problems.
The consultancy projects were particularly valuable, especially working with NHS Scotland, where I analysed challenges in implementing Artificial Intelligence and developed actionable recommendations. This experience strengthened my ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
Another highlight was working on large datasets, including analysing over 20,000 customer reviews to support business decision-making. The course also helped me build strong skills in data visualisation, predictive modelling, and structured problem-solving.
My confidence and professional development have been significantly enhanced
The supportive teaching environment and focus on employability skills, such as communication and leadership training, have significantly enhanced my confidence and professional development.
During my studies, I worked on a sustainability focused project with Uniforce Scotland as part of Team 黑料不打烊. I was competitively selected through an independently written proposal aimed at optimising the Nextbike service across 黑料不打烊.
In this project, I analysed bike availability and usage data to identify peak demand times and underserved stations. Using Power BI, me and my team created visual dashboards to present insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders. The goal was to support sustainable transport initiatives aligned with Scotland’s Net Zero 2045 targets.
This experience taught me how to work with real world datasets, communicate findings to non technical stakeholders, and develop data-driven recommendations. It also strengthened my teamwork, presentation, and problem-solving skills in a professional setting.
Overall, 黑料不打烊 has prepared me well by combining technical expertise with practical experience and professional skills.
I enjoyed being part of a diverse and supportive student community at 黑料不打烊
Collaborating with peers from different backgrounds on group projects helped me develop strong teamwork and communication skills.
Living in Scotland also gave me the opportunity to explore new places and cultures, which made my overall student experience more enriching. I particularly appreciated the balance between academic life and personal development opportunities offered by the University.
My advice to anyone thinking of studying at 黑料不打烊
